Live updates: Mandatory evacuations issued for fire along Deer Creek Canyon Road

DENVER (KDVR) — A wildfire ignited late Tuesday night in Jefferson County, forcing mandatory evacuations.

The fire was burning along Deer Creek Canyon Road, according to the West Metro Fire Protection District. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said the area was west of Grizzly Drive. Mandatory evacuations and pre-evacuations were issued for Deer Creek Mesa and the area around Sampson Road.

Firefighters from West Metro, South Metro Fire Rescue, Inter-Canyon Fire Protection District and North Fork Fire Protection District were responding.
