LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A nonprofit based in Little Rock is dedicated to an ongoing effort to keep the city beautiful.
Some key focus areas for Keep Little Rock Beautiful are cleaning lakes, creeks, highways and parks, all in an ongoing effort to keep the city clean.
The organization also attends any festival and event they can to spread awareness about the impact its' projects have on the environment.
"We really want to grow and we want to make a big impact year after year," Keep Little Rock Beautiful board member Derek Shelton said.
These projects are things this nonprofit organization says they feel the city needs.
One of the oldest board members, Norm Berner, said the organization needs help from a new generation.
"We're not going to be around forever,” Berner said. “We need to get younger people involved.”
The nonprofit is also responsible for building the Rainbow Bridges at MacArthur Park and Little Rock Animal Village honoring pets that have passed.
