Local nursing homes host Summer Olympics event for residents

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Four Wellsential Health-operated facilities hosted their own Olympics-inspired event for residents.

The event took place on Thursday at the Windsor Arbor View located at 218 Baltic Avenue.

Sarah De La Fuente, Senior Admissions Director Windsor Arbor View told ValleyCentral, that they organized with all their sister facilities located in Edinburg to put together this event for their residents.

"Our residents have been practicing for two months, there was a good turnout, everyone had won an award," De La Fuente added.

Ana Reyes, Facility Administrator for Windsor Arbor View said, it is very important to create events such as this one so our residents can be active and keep their mental agility, physical activity and socialize with others.

The Wellsential Health inaugural Summer Olympics held games and activities such as wheelchair races, beanbag toss, ring toss, bowling and pool noodle volleyball.
