Los Angeles police release startling video of January hit-and-run; suspect remains outstanding

The suspect in a January hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles remains outstanding, and police are hoping that newly released video footage can help track them down.

According to a press release issued by the Los Angeles Police Department, the hit-and-run occurred at 7:42 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the intersection of 8^th Avenue and 60^th Street in L.A.’s Hyde Park neighborhood.

The victim, a 72-year-old woman, was crossing in a marked crosswalk when she was struck.

New video posted by the LAPD shows the suspect’s vehicle, a late model gray SUV, making a right turn at a green light. The pedestrian had the right of way, as the “Walk” sign is visible in the footage.
