Louisiana correctional officer accused of having relationship with inmate arrested

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Iberville Parish deputies arrested an Elayn Hunt Correctional Center correctional officer accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate and smuggling cellphones to another inmate.

Ja'Camry Davis, 22, of Baton Rouge was arrested and booked into the Iberville Parish Prison. She was charged with one count of malfeasance in office and three counts of introduction of contraband into a penal institution.

An EHCC investigation revealed the wrongdoing and during questioning, Davis admitted to the crimes, according to a news release from the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections. Officials said she resigned during questioning.

Davis had worked at EHCC as a corrections master sergeant since Aug. 22, 2022, according to a news release.
