MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man allegedly attacked another man with a wrench while stealing a bike in Manhattan on July 24, according to the NYPD.
It happened on 3rd Avenue around 3:40 p.m. The 51-year-old victim was standing near his bike when the suspect approached with a wrench, per police.
The suspect then took the bike off a scaffolding pole it was locked to, according to authorities. When the victim tried to stop the theft, the suspect smacked him with a wrench, per police.
The suspect fled the scene on the bike, according to authorities. He was last seen wearing a construction vest.
