INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis man is behind bars after police say he caused a fatal car crash while drunk driving on New Year’s Day.

News 8 previously reported that Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers on Thursday morning were at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on West 79th Street, just east of Michigan Road.

One person died at the scene. IMPD was not clear if anyone else was injured.
