Man charged with DUI after rollover crash in Rapid City

RAPID CITY S.D. (KELO) -- An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges following a rollover crash on Skyline Drive, according to a news release from the Rapid City Police Department.

Police found the vehicle on its roof at the scene and multiple injured people in and around the car. An unconscious man was found next to the vehicle and taken to the hospital. Police responded to the crash around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Four other passengers were also taken to the hospital for treatment. According to police, an open liquor bottle was located inside and upon further investigation, it was determined the unresponsive 18-year-old man was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Following treatment at the hospital, the 18-year-old driver is facing multiple criminal offenses, including DUI, Reckless Driving, four counts of Vehicular Battery, Open Container in a Motor Vehicle, Driving without a Valid License, and Underage Consumption of an Alcoholic Beverage.
