Man crossing street dies after being hit by vehicle in North County

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- An 83-year-old man struck by a car one week ago in Oceanside died from his injuries Monday, authorities said.

The collision occurred last Monday around 7:31 a.m. at the intersection of Rancho Del Oro Drive and Via Rancho, Heather Mitchell with the Oceanside Police Department said in a news release.

Henry Broncy, of Oceanside, was crossing the street outside of the marked pedestrian crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle driven by a 46-year-old Oceanside resident, according to authorities.

Broncy was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, cooperated with police and was not arrested nor are there any charges pending, authorities said.
