Man found dead inside car near Fort Wayne gas station

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WISH) — A man was found dead in a car with a gunshot wound early Sunday morning.

At 4:33 a.m., Fort Wayne Police Department officers were called to the intersection of Fairfield Avenue and West Paulding Road right by Shell gas station on reports of a shooting.

Police found the unknown male with a gunshot wound. Medics arrived shortly after and pronounced him dead.

It is unknown what led to the shooting or if there are any suspects.

The intersection will remain closed while detectives investigate the area for video surveillance and evidence.
