California Highway Patrol officers are investigating after a man was found by paramedics shot in the head Thursday evening near a freeway off-ramp in City Heights.
The incident was reported around 5:30 p.m. when a caller reported seeing a pedestrian down on northbound Interstate 805 near University Avenue, Officer Salvador Castro told Sideo News.
When paramedics arrived they found a 30-year-old man from San Diego suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the forehead, Castro said.
He was taken to a hospital. His condition as of Friday was not immediately known.
There was no information about the suspected shooter, Castro said.
