Man shot at Pine Ridge powwow grounds

PINE RIDGE, SD (KELO) -- South Dakota tribal authorities say a 57-year-old man was shot multiple times at the powwow grounds in Pine Ridge.

The Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety says the shooting happened during a confrontation between several males late Friday night.

The suspect ran from the scene but was later caught by authorities while trying to leave in a vehicle.

The shooting victim was taken to Monument Health in Rapid City. There's no word on his condition.

Investigators say there is no danger to the public.
