Man shot near grocery store in Lemon Grove; suspect remains on the loose

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Deputies are searching for a suspect after a man was shot near a grocery store in Lemon Grove Thursday evening, said the San Diego Sheriff's Department.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on Broadway, near the Food 4 Less and Home Depot.

The victim, a man of unknown age, was struck once in the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The nature of his injuries are unknown at this time.

Deputies said the shooter was last seen wearing a lime green t-shirt. No further details were immediately provided.
