Man stabbed with icepick in Little Italy

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A verbal fight between two men in Little Italy turned violent Friday night, according to the San Diego Police Department.

For reasons unknown, a verbal altercation between the pair occurred around 10:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Kettner Boulevard, authorities explained. During the argument, the suspect pulled out an icepick and stabbed the 65-year-old victim.

Police said the suspect ran away from the scene. Meanwhile, the victim suffered a puncture to his abdomen and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect was described by police as a white man between the ages of 30 and 45 who stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a thin build, brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and gray checkered jacket, and dark pants.
