Midkiff and Cotton Flat project complete, I-20 mainlanes and bridges to open soon

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- TxDot announced that construction for the Midkiff and Cotton Flat bridge projects has been completed and drivers along I-20 will notice traffic pattern changes this week as the new roads are scheduled to open.

According to TxDOT officials, the I-20 main-lane bridges are scheduled to open on Saturday, July 13, where interstate traffic will pass over Midkiff Road and Cotton Flat Road on the newest bridges. 

Officials asked drivers who will be in the area during the traffic pattern switch, to use an alternate route if possible and that both roadways will have temporary stop signs in place until signals are installed at the frontage road intersections.
