MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - The Midland RockHounds are on a roll, securing their fourth-consecutive series win Sunday afternoon against San Antonio. Oakland A's No. 21 prospect Brennan Milone has played a key role in that success, in various positions.
"I've played seven or eight games at third [base] and four or five games at second [base], so I've moved around a little bit," Milone said.
Milone, a sixth-round draft pick in 2022, was assigned to the RockHounds in early April and since then he has been willing to do whatever it takes to win. "My biggest goal is to win this half, and that's what a lot of us want and the individual stuff will come after that."
The RockHounds fell short of clinching a playoff berth in the first half of the season, which ended in late June. Now in the second half of the season, they have a commanding lead in the Texas League South division, with hopes to clinch their first playoff berth since 2019.
Their mindset is simple and when everyone contributes, it makes the team game much easier.
"We all talk about showing up every day, working hard, going out there and trying to give it our best effort and try to win every game and I think that everything else takes care of itself," Milone said.
The RockHounds have been solid offensively along with Milone, who is batting .276 with 10 home runs and 50 RBI...
