Missing Little Rock man’s truck discovered in Newton County

NEWTON COUNTY, Ark.- The truck of a Little Rock man who went missing was discovered by a Newton County deputy.

According to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office, a truck belonging to 41-year-old Clyde Holmes, AKA Clyde Boatwright. Jr. of Little Rock was discovered along Highway 74 between Jasper and Piercetown on July 11.

Investigators said Holmes was last seen in Little Rock on July 10.

A Newton County deputy discovered the abandoned truck, which was locked and pulled to one side of the roadway, around 5:00 a.m. and checked the surrounding area for the owner. The truck was then towed and entered into a nationwide law enforcement computer network as impounded.

On July 19, Little Rock Police contacted Newton County deputies about the truck. Deputies secured a search warrant and searched the truck but found no new information. Investigators said Holmes has no known ties to Newton County.

Newton County authorities have been working with Little Rock police, with deputies conducting a ground search with K-9 teams.
