GARLAND, Utah (ABC4) -- A mother and her children safely escaped their vehicle and walked half a mile to find help after a rollover crash landed them in a northern Utah canal.
According to Captain Javier Muñoz with the Garland Fire Department, a mother was driving with her two children Thursday afternoon when their vehicle rolled into a canal in Garland.
While the cause of the rollover crash is still under investigation, authorities believe she was run off the road by another driver who clipped her vehicle, sending it rolling into the waterway.
The mother told authorities she doesn't remember all the details of the vehicle escape as she was focused on saving her children. She said she was able to unbuckle herself and her two children, extract them from the vehicle, and safely exit the canal.
