DENVER (KDVR) — A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash with a car at the intersection of East 23rd Avenue and North Peoria Street on Sunday afternoon.
Aurora police reported the crash at about 3:32 p.m. on X, after the crash had been investigated and the roadway cleared. The agency said North Peoria Street was closed at East 25th Avenue for several hours before it reopened.
Police investigators said a motorcycle with one rider was traveling northbound on North Peoria Street when a blue sedan turned left in front of the motorcycle, also from northbound North Peoria Street, to westbound East 23rd Avenue.
The driver of the sedan was cooperative on scene, the Aurora Police Department reported, but the adult male motorcyclist was transported to a hospital before he was pronounced dead. Police said they believe the motorcycle's speed contributed to the crash.
The Adams County Coroner's Office will identify the crash victim.
