MPD investigating assault in Macarena's parking lot

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Midland Police Department is investigating a disturbance with weapons that took place in the Macarena's parking lot, located at 4411 W Illinois Avenue.

MPD said when they arrived on the scene, they spoke with two men who'd been involved in a physical altercation.

“The victim reported being in the passenger seat of a vehicle when the suspect opened the door and began to assault him,” MPD reported. “The victim claimed to have acted in self-defense during the assault, striking the suspect with a nearby knife. Both males were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
