QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – An MTA worker was slashed inside a Queens subway station early Wednesday morning, according to the NYPD.
It happened at the Jamaica–179th Street station around 3:40 a.m. A 54-year-old MTA employee was cleaning a stationary F train when the suspect approached him, according to authorities.
The worker and suspect got into an argument. It escalated and the suspect pulled out a knife, per police.
The employee put his hands up to try to protect his face, which is when his hands were slashed, according to authorities.
The worker was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens.
The suspect fled the subway station, per police. No weapon was recovered.
