LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A production currently filming statewide looks to bring the beauty and history of Arkansas to screens across the country.
"My Natural State" is a series from the mind of Hollywood actress Dawn Olivieri, who pitched the idea to the Arkansas Department of Tourism.
"I had the Board of Tourism reach out to me and they asked if I would maybe make a presence on their Instagram, and I thought, 'You know guys, you have treasure here...let's tell the story of Arkansas", Olivieri recalled.
From unearthing treasures to exploring nature, Olivieri is sharing her new home with the world. She fell in love with the Natural State even before she moved from Los Angeles to Mena two years ago and started a horse rescue.
Her favorite parts of her surroundings are the down-to-earth people, the spirituality, and the raw edges of Arkansas.
"And that's sort of what birthed this show in 'My Natural State’", Olivieri explained.
The production is filming at the Crater of Diamonds State Park, Hot Springs, Eureka Springs, and more with support from the Arkansas Department of Tourism.
