NEW YORK (PIX11) – More than 250 Navy SEALS, veterans, first responders and civilians will swim a grueling 3.5 miles across the Hudson River in August for charity, according to organizers.
Participants will swim from Liberty State Park in New Jersey to the World Trade Center to raise money for the Navy SEAL Foundation during the annual New York City SEAL Swim on Aug. 10.
Swimmers will first head to the Statue of Liberty, where they'll do 100 push-ups and 22 pull-ups. Then, they're off to Ellis Island to do another 100 push-ups and 22 pull-ups.
Participants then proceed to Battery Park, where they'll pick up American flags and run a mile to the World Trade Center. They'll do another 100 push-ups and 22 pull-ups when they arrive.
The Navy SEAL Foundation supports over 30 essential programs for active duty SEALS, veterans and family members, according to organizers.
