New app uses AI to help find the perfect movie or TV show on any streaming service

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- People use artificial intelligence for many different things, but what about helping you pick out something to watch among all the sea of streaming platforms you have? A new app is using an AI algorithm to do just that.

A new app, Gatsby TV, uses an algorithm to connect all the streaming platforms you subscribe to and help you find a show or movie that interests you. The app will give you information on what platform to find it on and if there is an option to rent, buy, or stream, along with ratings from Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB, according to the app's website.

The company said a survey showed that people spend around 30 minutes deciding what to watch, and they fix that problem.

The app and its algorithm will also consider suggestions sent to you from friends or family. The company said this is important because they believe those people know you better than the streaming platforms.
