Newsom to sign order for removal of homeless encampments: Report 

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is expected to sign an executive order allowing state officials to begin dismantling homeless encampments, according to a report Thursday.

The order comes in response to a recent Supreme Court decision that gave officials authority to remove homeless encampments and ticket people for camping in public.

Newsom is expected to call on California officials Thursday to begin enforcing the ruling "with urgency and dignity," the New York Times reported.
