No. 3 subway service suspended for track replacements: MTA

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Service for the number 3 subway line is suspended until 5 a.m. Friday morning, the MTA announced Monday.

Service ended at around 9:30 p.m. Monday so the agency could replace the tracks, according to the MTA's website.

Passengers on the 3 line can follow the alternate travel routes provided by the MTA:

  • No. 2 subways will make stops between Franklin Avenue and 135th Street. Additionally, the 2 will run via the 3 to and from Harlem-148th Street, skipping 145th Street in both directions.
  • No. 4 subways will make stops between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and New Lots Avenue.
  • Passengers needing to get to 145th Street can take a free shuttle bus.
  • Passengers can transfer between the 2 and shuttle buses at 135th Street and transfer between the 2 and 4 at Nevins Street and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.
