No, this week’s wildfire isn’t stopping Antelope Island’s celebration of spiders

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) -- Earlier this week, a grass fire forced the closure of Antelope Island State Park. But now the gates are open again, and just in time for the annual celebration of spiders.

On Saturday, the park is holding its Spider Fest, which highlights the eight-legged creatures that weave their way around the island by the thousands, if not millions, during summer. Organizers say the goal is to educate the public about the role these creatures play in the ecosystem.
