North Little Rock police investigating Friday morning death of 4-year-old

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating the Friday morning death of a toddler.

Authorities said officers responded to the 200 block of Water Street just before 8:30 a.m. after someone was reportedly injured by gunfire.

When they arrived, the officers said they found a 4-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said the girl was sent to a local hospital for treatment where she later died from her injuries.

NLRPD officials said detectives were then notified and responded to the scene to open an investigation. Detectives say preliminary information indicates this is an isolated incident.
