ANDREWS COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a four-vehicle crash that left one woman dead Monday.
According to a crash report, around 7:22 p.m. on June 24, troopers responded to a four-vehicle crash on State Highway 128, near mile marker 224. The preliminary investigation revealed that a GMC Sierra was traveling east on SH 128; a Kia Optima, Ford F-140, and Dodge Ram 2500 were all stopped at a temporary construction zone traffic red light.
Investigators said the driver of the GMC Sierra failed to control his speed and struck the back of Kia. As a result, the Kia collided with the back of the Ford, which in turn struck the back of the Dodge.
The driver of the Kia, identified as 53-year-old Rosa Pulgar Granado, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
