ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - One person was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday afternoon, after a truck failed to yield right of way.

OPD said that at about 4:24pm on Friday, June 21, officers and crews from Odessa Fire Rescue responded to East Loop 338 and Arroyo Road, referencing a major crash.

Investigation revealed a black 2021 Ford F-150 was facing south in the 4500 block of Northeast Loop 338, attempting to turn east onto Arroyo Road. A white 2006 Harley Davidson, operated by 33-year-old Vance Peek, was travelling north in the 4500 block of NE Loop 338.

A beige 2022 GMC Denali was stopped at a stop sign facing wet at the intersection of Arroyo and NE Loop 338. The F-150 failed to yield right of way, turning left in front of the Harley Davidson. This caused the motorcycle to hit the F-150 before the truck then collided with the GMC Denali.

Peek was transported to MCH where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel. Next of kin have been notified. This investigation remains ongoing.
