Ogden cyclist killed in crosswalk identified by authorities

OGDEN, Utah (ABC4) -- The victim who was struck and killed while crossing near an Ogden intersection on Monday morning has been identified by the Ogden City Police Department.

Police say it was Charlie Hodgson, 31, who was in the crosswalk when he was hit by a dump truck shortly after 6 a.m. on July 29.

Motorcyclist tossed over road barrier on Trappers Loop

The dump truck had been traveling northbound on Wall Avenue when it turned east onto 12th Street. The driver of the dump truck, identified only as a man in his 50s, reportedly did not see Hodgson when he hit him.

Hodgson was found dead at the scene.

The Ogden City Police Department said an investigation into the fatal crash is still ongoing.
