Ohio teacher arrested on child pornography charges may have victims in Colorado

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WDTN) — An Ohio man is facing charges related to child pornography after being arrested by FBI agents.

On July 26, Mark A. Altherr, 44, of Cincinnati, Ohio, was arrested on charges of distribution and possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the DOJ's Southern District of Ohio.

According to the DOJ, Altherr is accused of making more than 260 posts on a child-porn website over the past three years.

"Some of the posts included images that appeared to be minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct," said the DOJ. "The victims were alleged to be between the ages of five and 12."

It is reported that the man is a fitness education teacher at a Cincinnati-area school district. The FBI believes he may have also taught in Colorado and there may be additional victims there.

As a part of the investigation, the FBI is looking to locate anyone who may have been impacted by Altherr.
