ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Detectives with the St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons believe an overnight shooting that claimed the lives of two teenagers was, in fact, a murder-suicide.

According to Sgt. Tracy Panus, a county police spokeswoman, the shooting occurred around 12:50 a.m. in the 9400 block of Olive Boulevard, approximately a mile west of Interstate 170.

Officers from the Olivette Police Department responded to a call of a shooting. When canvassing the area, officers heard an additional gunshot and believed someone was shooting at them. Officers put out an “officer in need of aid” call.
