PECOS COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead and another injured last weekend.

According to a crash report, around 8:00 a.m. on July 20. troopers responded to FM 1053, near mile marker 384 in Pecos County. At the scene, investigators learned that two vehicles, a Ford F-150 and a GMC Sierra, had collided head-on.

Investigators said 21-year-old Donnavin Brown, of Odessa, was traveling southbound on FM 1053 near mile marker 384 when he veered into the northbound lane. This caused the driver of the GMC, identified as 25-year-old Nicholas Calloway, of Houston, to take evasive action and travel into the southbound lane.
