One person killed in West Haven police shooting

WEST HAVEN, Utah (ABC4) -- One person was shot and killed by police in a tragic incident in West Haven on Monday.

Lt. Terance Lavely with the Weber County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to an apartment complex in the area of 2200 South and 1100 West on Aug. 5. A concerned family member had called dispatch reporting the individual was possibly under the influence of drugs, acting erratically, and threatening self-harm.

Deputies reported finding a "chaotic scene" upon arrival and began talking with the individual, who has not been publicly identified. According to Lavely, the person was in possession of a weapon with children inside the residence.
