One struck while attempting to render aid to cat in Millcreek, police seeking info

MILLCREEK, Utah (ABC4) -- Unified Police are seeking information regarding a hit-and-run crash in Millcreek Saturday morning.

Shortly before 6 a.m. on July 27, police responded to a hit-and-run accident at 2300 East and 3051 South in Millcreek.

Just before the crash, a driver had gotten out of their vehicle after striking a cat, police said. While the driver was attempting to render aid to the cat, they were reportedly struck by another vehicle.

Behind the stopped vehicle was possibly a "black box-type SUV," police said.

"It is possible the driver or occupants of this SUV may have witnessed this individual struck by another vehicle," a press release from Unified Police states.

Police are asking if anyone in the area may have seen a vehicle fleeing the area around this time. Anyone with information is asked to call dispatch at 801-840-4000 and reference case number C024-70166.
