SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Del Mar's 85th summer racing season gets underway Saturday on a sold-out Opening Day.
It's the first time Del Mar Thoroughbred Club has held Opening Day on a Saturday since the 1950s. The club says the scheduling adjustment was made due to the San Diego County Fair running through July 7 this year.
Gates opened at 11:30 a.m. and the first race is slated for 2 p.m.
