Orthopedics team completes groundbreaking surgery at Conemaugh

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Conemaugh Health System recently announced that a team from its Western PA Orthopedics practice completed the first meniscal transplant surgery at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

"Privileged, because we have a great team economy. This is the best team that I've ever worked with in my career in orthopedics. So I'm privileged to be a part of the team," Dr. Richard Goodrich, an Orthopedic Surgeon with Western PA Orthopedics.

Goodrich, along with Darren Lester, Certified Surgical Technician, and Louis Koharchik, Certified Surgical First Assistant, performed the transplant on a teenage patient with a meniscal deficient knee a few weeks ago.
