Paramount Skydance agrees to delay merger until June 2027

(The Center Square) – Plans to unite Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery into a film and television giant are on ice following a flurry of antitrust lawsuits.

Paramount Skydance recently announced that it will delay closing its $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery to as late as June 2027. The merger could come sooner if a federal judge rules in Paramount Skydance’s favor.

Originally, the companies aimed to close the deal by the end of September 2026.

Paramount’s California movie and TV studios are in Hollywood. Warner Bros.’ movie and TV studios are about 26 miles away in Burbank. Both companies also own streaming services and TV networks, including Paramount Skydance’s CBS.
