CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced it will change the traffic pattern on I-80 westbound for a bridge replacement project.
The project will take place between mile markers 165 and 166 in Centre County of Friday, Aug. 9 and will consist of roadway improvements meant to enhance the ride quality of I-88, Route 1010 (Huber Ridge Road) and Sand Ridge Road.
PennDOT urges drivers traveling this span of I-80 westbound to expect delays while the contractor transitions from a left (passing) lane closure to a right (travel) lane closure. Pennsylvania State Police will be on-site to assist with the traffic switch. The contractor made this switch in the eastbound lanes on Friday, July 26, and that pattern will remain in place.
Overall work on this project consists of concrete and asphalt paving on Interstate 80, Huber Ridge, and Sand Ridge roads, milling and paving, drainage improvements, guide rail installation and pavement marking.
