MAHWAH, N.J. (PIX11) -- A Pennsylvania man is accused of extorting a person for nude photos through social media and texts, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's office.
Officials announced on Thursday that back in April, the Mahwah Police Department started looking into a pattern of messages that started on Snapchat and eventually texts from an unknown person to the victim. The investigation tracked the numbers and accounts to 24-year-old Jourden Battle of Tobyhanna, Pa.
Battle was taken into police custody on Wednesday in Pennsylvania as he waits for extradition to Bergen County from Monroe County Jail. Officials said Battle is being charged with theft by extortion in the second degree.
