(WTAJ) -- National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation (National Fuel) has submitted its annual adjustment to gas supply charges, which are to become effective Aug. 1.
The adjustment will increase the monthly bill of a "typical residential customer" with an annual usage of 99,300 cubic feet of gas by $7.40, which will increase the bill from $64.72 to $72.12. The increase in supply charges is primarily due to higher market prices for natural gas.
Natural Fuel supplies gas for parts of Jefferson, Elk and Clearfield County in Central Pennsylvania.
The rate adjustment is significantly "lower" than the increase that had been projected in National Fuel's annual Purchased Gas Cot filing in December of 2023 when the company had been projecting a monthly bill of $87.98.
