SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — With another season of the hit Disney+ show "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" on the horizon, the cast and creative team have finally unveiled who is set to bring a fan-favorite character to life in the upcoming installment.
On Thursday in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, Rick Riordan, the best-selling author of the television show's source material, revealed that Canadian actor Daniel Diemer will be joining the cast in the role of "Tyson," Percy Jackson's cyclops half-brother.
Tyson is introduced in the second installment of Riordan's "Percy Jackson" book series, "The Sea of Monsters," which served as the basis for the upcoming season. He is described as a shy, awkward and endearing character who will help Percy as he ventures to save Camp Half-Blood.
"Daniel's enthusiasm and talent can bring a whole new dimension to Tyson and it's gonna be incredible to see him," Rioridan said in a pre-recorded message shown during the Hall H panel. "I can't wait for you guys to meet him and welcome him to the Percy Jackson universe."
