Plane makes emergency landing on highway in Miller County

MILLER COUNTY, Ark. – A highway in southwest Arkansas became a landing strip after a plane made an emergency landing in Miller County on Tuesday.

In a Tuesday afternoon Facebook post, officials with the Miller County Sheriff’s Office said a pilot was forced to make an emergency landing on Highway 67 earlier in the day.

According to Miller County Office of Emergency Management officials, the crash happened after 4:35 p.m.

OEM officials said the plane was being ferried back to the Texarkana Airport from an air show in Wisconsin when it ran out of fuel. After making the emergency landing, the plane was towed to the airport.
