HUNTINGDON, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A traffic stop Tuesday led to the arrest of a man and woman after police said they found drugs and a loaded gun.
Lauren Olschewski and Michael Keith Brumbaugh are facing charges including gun possession, giving false ID to an officer and drug possession after a traffic stop July 30 just before 6 p.m., Huntingdon police said.
When asked for a driver's license Olschewski told police she didn't have a valid one. Police then asked her out of the Subaru. According to their report, they tried to verify if Brumbaugh had a valid license and he gave them a fake name.
Police said that Olschewski had bloodshot and glassy eyes along with fast-paced and energetic movements and speech during a casual conversation with the officer. Standard field sobriety tests were then conducted.
Olschewski allegedly consented to a search of the vehicle. When Brumbaugh got out, he told police he had a knife in his pocket, officers said. Behind the passenger seat where Brumbaugh was sitting was a backpack that had a loaded firearm inside.
Brumbaugh was identified by proper identification. Police said he was found to have an active warrant and did not have a valid concealed carry permit.
A small black container with a small amount of a white powdery substance was also found in the backpack. Police said they suspected it to be cocaine or methamphetamine. Officers also found paraphernalia and $900 in cash during th...
