CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A homicide investigation is underway Friday in Chula Vista.
Authorities received a call about an assault with a deadly weapon in the area of Santa Alicia and East Palomar Street, the Chula Vista Police Department posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, at 9:06 p.m.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a man in his 40s dead from stab wounds, according to police.
"As of right now, this does not appear to be a random attack — no continued threat to the public related to this incident," CVPD said on X.
Investigators are working to determine and confirm suspect information.
Authorities advise the public to avoid the area.
