Police warn Midland residents of door-to-door solicitors

MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) - The Midland Police Department is warning residents of complaints about door-to-door solicitors who may not be following city guidelines.

MPD said that if a door-to-door solicitor knocks on your door, there are a few things to keep in mind:

• You don't have to answer the door, especially after dark. Solicitors may only visit Midland homes between 10 a.m. And 8 p.m.
• Solicitors cannot knock on your door if you have a no trespassing or no soliciting sign.
• Be sure to ask for credentials and check ID of any door-to-door solicitor you interact with.
• If you feel unsafe around a solicitor, make sure to call MPD.
