BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Port Allen Police Department is investigating after a man was shot and taken to the hospital on Friday, Aug. 9.
According to Port Allen PD, officers responded to a reported shooting on Michigan Avenue in Port Allen. Police stated the shooting took place around 4:48 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a Black adult male who had been shot. According to Port Allen PD, he was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
No further details were immediately available at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
