PUEBLO, Colo. (KXRM) — According to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office, an inmate at the Pueblo County Jail has been charged with bringing drugs after deputies recovered nearly 40 fentanyl pills he swallowed before his arrest on Tuesday.
PCSO reported that the day after Chad Edmonds, 39 was booked into jail on two warrants, Pueblo County Sheriff's detention deputies were informed that he had possibly ingested drugs before being arrested. They immediately questioned Edmonds, but he denied the accusations.
When deputies suggested having a body scan done on Edmonds to see if there were any foreign objects in his body, he at first refused but later consented.
Edmonds was scanned at the hospital on July 24, and 20 to 30 small, round items showed in his intestines. He then admitted to swallowing a bag of fentanyl pills, according to PCSO.
After being returned to jail, he was placed in a dry cell and closely monitored until he passed the bag, which contained 37 pills.
