SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Rady Children's Hospital nurses have announced a plan to strike again later this month.
Thursday's announcement comes two days after the nurses union rejected the third and latest offer by the hospital.
The five-day strike is slated to begin Aug. 19 and end Aug. 24.
Last month, hundreds of nurses at the hospital hit the picket lines. It was the union's first strike since it was formed more than 20 years ago.
"Rady Children’s believes the most recent tentative agreement with UNOCH was
fair, competitive and sustainable and allocated available funds to the areas we
believe are of greatest need," the hospital said in a statement Thursday.
The hospital added it will bring back its strike contingency plan "to ensure the Hospital can continue to be the pediatric safety net for the community's children and families."
"The Hospital remains committed to bargaining in good faith with UNOCH," the statement continued.
